Lake Taquin is an 8800 acre lake on the Gadsden County/Leon County line in North Florida. Lake Talquin is very unique and the only lake of it’s kind in Florida. It doesn’t have a lot of vegetation but is rich with stumps, logs and other bass-holding habitats. While famous for it’s Crappie fishing, it has excellent Bass fishing during certain times of the year.

Lake Talquin is a structure-fisherman’s paradise. From the numerous creek channel bends and drop-offs and the river channel ledges to the humps in the bed of the lake, Bass are plentiful.

Carolina rigs and Crank baits are the two main staples but you can also use other lures like top-water lures and spinnerbaits at times.
